David Casey
Founder, builder. Human in search of meaning.
I run Funding the Commons, where we convene researchers, builders, and funders to figure out better ways to sustain public goods. Before that, I was the first Celo Scout, deploying venture capital to early-stage Global South fintechs. I co-founded ReSource, a mutual credit (multilateral barter) protocol on Ethereum, and NuMundo, a transformational travel platform connecting 1000 host locations across 80 countries. I also co-founded Cosmic Convergence, an annual cultural festival in Guatemala I helped build over eight years.
I've been circling the same question for about fifteen years: how do communities fund, govern, and sustain the things they share? The answers keep changing. The question doesn't.
This site documents the journey — the projects, the writing, the things I got wrong, and the thesis that's still forming.
